enchanted by a stay in japan, decker was inspired to create the minimalist wearable sculptures in 18 kt fairtrade gold titled in praise of shadows - an homage to junichiro tanizaki’s classic essay celebrating the aesthetics of shadows in japanese architecture and craft.
decker’s jewellery is a meditation on the richness of simplicity. she sculpts space, movement, and texture, creating an interplay of light and shadow. this essential purity is typical of her work in its minimalism and attention to detail.
